What is prostate cancer?
Cancer that occurs in the prostate is called prostate cancer. This type of cancer occurs when there is an uncontrolled (referred to as being malignant) growth of cells in the prostate gland. The prostate is only found in males and is responsible for making the seminal fluid that transports and nourishes sperm, making up semen. It is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum.
